Maryville Pep Band

Pep Band

The Maryville Pep Band, or “Sound of the Saints,” performs for every home basketball game for both the Men’s and Women’s teams. In addition, the Pep Band has played for on-campus events such as the First Friday rally, Alumni Weekend, and Moonlight Madness during the fall semester.

More 40 members strong, Sound of the Saints plays all kinds of popular music from the 60s to contemporary, and from the Beatles to Maroon 5. Recent additions include current hit tunes such as: Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk,” Fallout Boy’s “”Centuries,” and “Bang Bang,” by Jessie J.

Scholarship opportunity:

$2,000 participation scholarships are available.

Auditions:

Will determine chair order (1st, 2nd, or 3rd parts, for example), if it is determined that there are too many interested people for individual instruments in the rhythm section. Students who have already been successful in their high school music programs (concert band, marching band, jazz band, pep band, etc.) will be successful with Sound of the Saints.

Rehearsal and Training:

The Pep Band practices every Monday night from 7-8:30pm. Most of the first semester is dedicated to rehearsing, with games beginning in November and stretching through February.
