Admission requirements for the online cybersecurity degree

To be eligible for admission into Maryville’s online cybersecurity bachelor’s degree, you will need a high school diploma and a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.

If you have prior college experience, you may be able to satisfy the general education requirement through transfer credits, enabling you to earn your cybersecurity degree online in as few as 2.5 years (full time).

Maryville’s online bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity blends tech-focused coursework in IT, programming and network security with a foundation in broad business areas such as finance, management and accounting. You’ll graduate with an understanding of the business impact of security breaches, so you can make informed security recommendations for an entire organization.

Career paths with a bachelor’s in cybersecurity

Maryville’s online cybersecurity degree program can equip you to pursue an information security career in business, finance, government and other settings. Develop the specialized skills to prepare for roles such as IT security consultant, information security analyst, information technology auditor, network architect or security engineer.

Many learners who aspire to leadership or advanced technical roles choose to pursue a master’s degree in the field. If you plan to continue your education, Maryville’s Early Access program enables you to earn up to 12 credits toward your master’s degree during the last phase of your online bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity. 

Early Access allows you to take graduate-level courses that count toward your undergraduate and graduate degrees. These courses are billed at the undergraduate tuition rate, so you can save time and money. You become eligible once you’ve completed 90 credit hours or more of your bachelor’s degree (at least 20 credit hours at Maryville) with a GPA of 3.25 or higher.
