Shani Lenore Named VP for Enrollment

Shani Lenore has been promoted to vice president for enrollment at Maryville University, having served as associate vice president of the division for the past seven years. With strategic planning guided by her leadership, Maryville projects overall enrollment growth of 12 to 15 percent for the 2018-2019 academic year.

“We value Shani’s contributions to our enrollment success, and we’re grateful for her continued leadership and commitment as Maryville advances a new national standard for strategic growth,” said Mark Lombardi, PhD, president of Maryville University.

Since 2007, enrollment for the University has more than doubled—increasing from 3,400 to 8,000 students—and first-year enrollment has been record-setting for the past 12 years.

“Maryville is leading a revolution in higher education and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to serve in a leadership role during this exciting time,” Lenore said. “Maryville’s commitment to providing a high quality, innovative, outcomes-based and personalized learning experience makes my job as an enrollment manager professionally rewarding.”

Building on more than 20 years of experience in higher education, Lenore has played a significant role in Maryville’s enrollment surge over the past decade. Since 2007, enrollment for the University has more than doubled—increasing from 3,400 to 8,000 students—and first-year enrollment has been record-setting for the past 12 consecutive years. The growth represents an expansion of Maryville’s geographic footprint, with students representing all 50 states and 60 countries.

Maryville’s outstanding enrollment growth is the result of strong leadership and advanced strategies designed to ensure student success and personalize the learning experience. The University has developed Digital World, a program that provides a free iPad to each first-year student and allows them to tailor their education in a digitally enhanced learning eco-system. Maryville has also expanded academic and professional programs, both on-ground and online, and developed valuable corporate and community partnerships to ensure those programs meet current market needs. The University’s innovative Life Coach program helps students understand their individual learning styles and leverage their personal strengths.

With strong enrollment numbers and strategic fiscal management, Maryville University is committed to greater access and affordability in higher education and has announced a tuition freeze for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Prior to joining Maryville in 2006 as director of admissions, Lenore served in admissions offices at Columbia College, Southeast Missouri State and Saint Louis University. She earned a BS in justice systems at Truman State University.
