Maryville University has launched a digital identification system called Saints ID. Students, faculty, and staff can now add their Saints ID cards to Apple Wallet or Google Pay, and use their iPhone, Apple Watch, or Android phone to access buildings on campus, purchase meals, and much more.
“The Saints ID is part of our comprehensive digital transformation plan that will enhance the Maryville student experience,” says President Mark Lombardi, PhD. “Our students have grown up in a digital age, and the level of convenience and security the Saints ID brings is in line with what they expect.”
Members of the Maryville community can now leave their physical wallets behind and access campus with just their mobile devices. By simply placing their smartphone or Apple Watch near a reader where physical student IDs are accepted, they can enter residence halls, the library and fitness center, buy meals at various campus dining locations, make purchases at the university store, and print documents.
Saints ID is not only convenient, it also provides an extra level of security as students no longer have to worry about misplacing their physical card. School credentials are also protected by two-factor authentication.
Saints ID works with iPhone 6 and later, Android version 6.0 or later and Apple Watch Series 1 and later. For more information visit maryville.edu/SaintsID.
