Reading time: Less than a minute
Jesse Kavadlo, PhD, professor of English, will read from his newly published book, American Popular Culture in the Era of Terror: Falling Skies, Dark Knights Rising, and Collapsing Cultures, at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, in Buder Commons.
The event is free and open to the public, and will feature a reading, refreshments, and book signing.
Kavadlo plans to read an excerpt from his book about the Hunger Games series and young adult dystopia, in anticipation of the movie, Mockingjay: Part II, to be released Nov. 20.
He is the author of two previous books on literature: Michael Chabon’s America: Magical Words, Secret Worlds, and Sacred Spaces and Don DeLillo: Balance at the Edge of Belief.
The event is co-sponsored by Hillel Maryville, University Library, President’s Office, and University Bookstore.
