Maryville University’s STUNT team placed fourth at the 2022 College STUNT Association National Championships for Division I and Division II varsity teams.
The Saints came out on top against the University of Kentucky with a score of 16-7 after falling to them twice by two and three points during the regular season.
Maryville went on to clinch the win of a competitive game against Concordia University Irvine with a score of 11-10. Previously, the eagles from Concordia knocked Maryville out of the National Tournament in 2021.
Additionally, Maryville’s STUNT team was undefeated in its conference for the second year in a row. The Saints were one of the Top 7 DI/DII STUNT teams to qualify for the national championship out of 43 college STUNT teams, and also were back-to-back national qualifiers.
“Our team’s national tournament wins and fourth in the nation placement mean everything to me and to our program,” said Kara Krawiecki, head coach for STUNT. “We have been working so hard all season overcoming adversity and challenges and it was incredible and so rewarding to see it all pay off. My team exceeded all our goals, broke countless program records and made program and school history. I couldn’t be more proud to lead this team. I’m so proud of and grateful for the 34 phenomenal female student-athletes that make up the fourth-ever STUNT team at Maryville University.”
