Maryville University has announced the expansion of its online bachelor’s degree programs that will begin in Fall 2018. Ten additional programs will be offered nationwide to working adults designed to educate and prepare them for the evolving career marketplace. These offerings align with Maryville’s student-centered approach to learning, providing dynamic educational options that meet students’ needs no matter their life stage or circumstance.
By making career-relevant education more accessible and flexible, Maryville increases educational opportunity for students who need alternatives to traditional higher education models. This modality is well suited to the 30 million 25- to 40-year-old working adults in the United States who have started a college degree but not yet completed it because of unexpected or difficult challenges in their work or personal lives.
“Expanding our online programs is a natural extension of what this university has done for nearly 150 years: put students’ needs first and give them the access, knowledge and support they deserve to succeed,” said Mark Lombardi, PhD, president of Maryville University. “At Maryville, we have a foundational belief that everything inside the classroom should be challenging and rigorous, and everything outside the classroom should be easy. Expanding our curriculum into online formats empowers working adults to seize opportunities, build their careers and enhance their lives.”
The new online curricula are built from the strength of the University’s on-ground degree programs which drive excellent outcomes for students, such as an 88% retention rate and a 97% career placement rate. A complete list of Maryville’s current and new online degree programs can be found here.
As a pioneer in education for working adults in St Louis begun in 1981, the expansion of Maryville’s online degree programs continues that mission. This expansion also complements record enrollment growth on campus for the past 10 years. Recently named the third fastest growing private university in the nation by The Chronicle of Higher Education, Maryville will continue to invest in and strengthen its traditional on-campus educational experience where students live and learn. Maryville is ranked in the top 10 percent of all major universities in the nation for the economic value of its academic degrees by Educate to Career, offering both online and on-campus degree programs that are nationally ranked.
