Alumni & Friends Industry Expert Program
Our main purpose in the Division of Student Success is to help students meet their academic, personal, and professional goals, both at Maryville and beyond! We have built a strong support model to achieve this, and we are hoping to expand that model with YOU!
• First-year: Students are assigned a life coach.
• Sophomore-year: Students are assigned a faculty mentor in their area of study.
• Junior-year: Students have the opportunity to be paired with an industry expert!
The Alumni & Friends Industry Expert Program pairs industry experts with students in the junior year of their undergraduate program to provide students the opportunity to gain insight into their industry and advice on how to be a successful young professional. Students are matched with alumni based on career interests, area of study, and the specific interests of an industry expert. As an industry expert, you can: provide guidance by sharing the hard-earned knowledge and insight that you’ve acquired, make a difference in the life and career of a student, network with fellow Maryville alumni, and connect with your alma mater in a personal way!
Industry experts and students will have the freedom to make the partnership work organically, whether through monthly in-person meetings, email exchanges, Skype or phone calls. Additionally, industry experts and students will be invited to a kick-off event in the spring and a fall meetup during Homecoming in October.
To volunteer to be an Alumni & Friends Industry Expert, please fill out the Industry Expert Volunteer Form. Matches will made in January 2019. At that time, you will be notified of the student(s) you have been matched with, along with next steps!
