Objectives

Perspectives Week: Objectives

1. Faculty members set and accomplish goals
Your topics and goals on last year’s shared Google sheet helped planned the workshops and structure of Perspectives 2018.

Keeping track of your daily goals and final accomplishments within the themes provides a framework and objectives for your summer planning, August’s REAL week, and the beginning of the semester:

■ Monday – Generate Change
■ Tuesday – Technology
■ Wednesday – Race.
■ Thursday – Active Learning Ecosystem
■ Friday – Reflection

2. Faculty members inspire and become inspired by working across disciplines

The mission of the Center for Teaching and Learning: “Community, Engagement, and Growth.” Your interactions help build a strong faculty community, which then benefits student learning in the classroom.

During Perspectives, faculty can work with others in and outside of your disciplines, in different groups and formations. Click here to see the groups that are available on Tuesday and Thursday.

3. Faculty members use technology to develop qualities of the Active Learning Ecosystem

Continue using technology in meaningful ways. Work with staff and other faculty to take technological risks next semester and enrich your course and student learning. Gain your Apple Teacher Certification .

4. Faculty embrace cultural awareness as a foundation for interacting with students and enhancing aspects of the Active Learning Ecosystem

With the incorporation of tools like the Intercultural Development Inventory, Diversity.edu, workshops, and panel discussions from faculty and students, a focus on racial diversity may shape our courses and student interactions with a greater cultural understanding.
